In the current competitiive environment, one would expect that companies - espeically up-scale ones- would ensure that their entire customer experience is class A. That, sadly, is not the case. I speak of my recent experience with Ammar Belal's leather products that are being sold under the label of Cromia. Cromia maintains that it is a unique platform which sells custom italian made bags to the discerning Pakistani consumer. Each bag costs an average of PKR 15 - 20k; and a typical consumer would walk away with the product thinking, "i'm in secure hands if a problem does occur with the product".
Not so! I took back a bag i had purchased justa few months earlier (please note rack rate= Rs. 18k). I'm not a rough user of my hand bags, but the lining inside tore while the white leather was also up for cleaning. I took the bag back and was told that they had no concept or facility to provide after sales service! I was disappointed/ enraged and surprised. Jafferjee's- our leading leather good brand in PK- offers admirable service. I have on many occasions taken back bags to be cleaned/ repaired and they have graciously and beautifully done the needful. And the irony of the situation is that their bags are sold at half the price of Mr. Belal's Cromia.
I have finally seen the truth in the adaga: 'be Pakistani, buy Pakistani' at least where the brand has established its credibility over time. Kudos to Jafferjees for their enterprise ethic! Mr. Belal could take a few lessons from Messrs Jafferjees in managing a business with long term views in the market and not just being in it for a 'quick buck'.
From a disillusioned customer.

In which city is that? I must avoid it in future.
Karachi. The outlet on Zamzama. They apparently sent my bag to Lahore to see if something could be done, when i insisted. They then called me 2 months later to tell me they couldn't do much except clean the bag. The torn section remained as it was, with the steel pin still sticking out. They have now kept the bag for another indefinite period of time to see how the steel works in the bag can be tamed! It was unbeliebvable.
Thanks for telling in. I'll be really avoiding this place in future.
terrible...such luxury good vendors will go out of their way to care about their precious high end customers in other countries...in pakistan they know they can get away with it...a bag worth 15000 deserves better post sales service than this...
AMMAR BELAL - WAKE UP!!!
The interesting part is that there is no email mentoned on their business card. It's reeking of an inflated ego - has a regular coat of arms kind of crest on it. Would have been hysterically funny had it not been my bag/ my money on the line.
AB is obviously laughing all the way to the bank.
I knew the belal family and I CRINGED them! they were just out there to make quick bucks (no matter how they made it!) so sorry you were burnt!
for obvious reasons, this whacko is ripping off you people. he is loosing business in a fast manner by over-pricing his cheap quality products. he's gotta pay off his lenders. so ends up ripping guys from thier money. anyway, a bag worth 15k + from AB is stupidity. whereas you can get excellent products from other vendors (includinf some foreign ones).
I think amina haq and AB belong to each other cause they are the biggest has-beens on the planets
hi i agree that you would be better off buying from jafferjees or even hub leather- i got bags from jafferjees and hub and though the after sales service is excellent for both brands i love how the hub bags wear over time- whereas the jafferjees leather that they are making at least the two bags i got a couple of years ago did not wear very well. maybe they have improved now. am sorry that you had to have such a bad experience- good luck with your bag!
