Thanks Friend for guiding me... Yar the STAFF in N.Karachi Exchange is corrupt and they don't know how to deal with the customer. When i/ went there no senior staff was there rathter they were in some so called meeting!!!! I know in Govermental mentatlity what is a meeting!!!!! PTCL has been privatised but govermental germs will last for many years!!!!. How is this possible that to change a ROUTER ONLY the service has to be suspended??? Is there any need to suspend a service for 2-3 days???? Why should I take router from PTCL??? I have purchased my own LINKSYS (CISCO) router and it is wrking perfect. In my early complain I stated that I AM PRETY SATIDFIED WITH THE SERVICE.

Service is not an issue, Customer care at exchange level is a big issue.

Yes ADIL, I had another experience same as you had, for my office DSL (4MB) but it is still 1MB in Defence Exchange.

Do send an email with detail complaint at karachi.rapid.support@ptcl.net.pk and your problem will resolve in 24 hours inshaALLAH. I was having same views before sending complaint at rapid support. Hope it will also work for you too...

the speed of dsl 1mb is not that much working as expected so kindly plz try to improve it...

there are few things happened with me also ... i changed PTCL .. switch to many others .. but they all are same ... lac of customer support .. as a network engineer .. i decided to sort out the problem by my self . now my PTCL is working fine ..
Use the following things to have better Speed :

1) Attach the DSL power line with Voltage Stablizer . Due to Low Voltage or fluctuation it works slow or D.C time to time

2) Check you Telephone line .. if you find any joints or earthing in it . change the whole telephone line from DP . Joints cause earthing and rusting . Try to use STP CAT 5 wire . its expensive but will solve the problem once for all .

3 ) Check you splitter , some times it doesn't work fine .

4 ) Also check the LAN card and line attach to it .

5) take your modem to DSL dept , ask them to check it

Try to change you telephone line in fiber optics . if not available .. then refresh you primary and secondary pairs .

my net is now working fine .. problems were from my side .. my line was not good .. i hope you can have a good working net also . hope for the best

With due respect it is stated that I am using PTCL DSL service for (2) years. By number # 021-35316962 and there is continuously problem in your service. I have already written on application to sir (D.E) , but there was no response letter on I upgraded my (DSL) service my (DSL) service from (2Mb) to (4Mb). But instead of (4Mb) I was just getting (1Mb) due to complained on 1218 and also complained to Defense Exchange Direct office (D.E) and (DSL) Officer.
After all, that were technical visits from there sites in whole month but the result was nil.
I got correction of bill by Mr. Emmer on 22-06-2010 that was correction of 1Mb on
21-07-2010 the bill I got in that by the date 22-06-2010 that payment and 4Mb payment were again churched in fact the service I did not get if I would get the service of 4Mb then would be stay connected by the same 4Mb service.
In the begging the DSL service was fantastic but the later on after three to four month the result was not satisfactory. I also consulted DSL officer Mr. Amir, Shahid and technical Mr. Ahad for above mentioned matter.
Therefore you are kindly requested to make the correction of bill as soon as possible. And try to provide us better DSL services. In case of not solving my above mentioned problems with great grief I would disconnect your DSL service and PTCL PHONE LINE.

i am also facing problems with PTCL DSL 4MB. that's always showing conectivity less then (Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 1024) . i requested to solveout probem but i think all PTCL Company is under control of there Linemans, they are realy corrupt peoples.

PTCL Land Line Does Not Support More Than 1mb As 2mb Supports But It is Not Available Due To Doubling it To 4 MB Even In Some Sectors Of ISLAMABAD Fiber Optic Is not Available Which can support Upto 10Mb Connection or More So People Do not Use PTCL Dsl & Switch To Any other Network Like Link Dot Net As They Are giving 2Mb Package in Just 2000PKR With No Installation Charges As Ptcl Is Charging 500PKR PER Connection.

Dear Tahir Mueen, I've done it and its so easy may be Iam living In Islamabad thats why but issue always persists in old lines, just goto ur nearst exchange...

nehal sahiba i also live in islamabad & for ur information i have those email addresses of PTCL which no other one can have but still i have to be very careful because when u make complaint to PTCL they say that we will disconnect the service. i have personal contacts in PTA but still PTCL does not listen to the complaints so it is not easy. i hope u understand. u have to be very careful with PTCL. I have suffered because of that & still get THREAT that my service will be disconnected.

Subject: Correction in Amount Billed in Final Notice

Sir,

My PTCL Phone No. 36990539 issued in the end of Dec,2009. This Line remained under fault since the beginning.
In the month of Feb 2010, it was working only for few days. In the month of June' 2010 it happened the same. Finally on
my DSL Connection stopped working. Despite of several complaints no rectification was or it was deliberately disconnected
for something else.

Moreover, I got this connection of phone for the purpose of DSL, but I was billed Rs.150/- extra in my local call charges
each month. I knew this excess billing just because I kept my phone and billing under observation.

On each disturbance I have been complaining dozzens of times. I was instructed from complaint center to give it in writing ,
the evidence i,e receiving of those complaint regarding excess billing I am attaching with this email.

My DSL Remained faulty and idle since 14th Aug 2010 till disconnection but I was billed fully for that period. Though, I was
not a defaulter in paying my bills.

I, therefore, request you to adjust my bills accordingly.

You keep on making complains on 1218 but nothing happens. You get put on hold for ever.....
