NADRA Employees Regularization

NADRA employees play a vital role in IDP registration and repatriation, working day and night with full devotion. It is due to our efforts that the project is considered to be a success story internationally.

On 31st July, 2009 on a surprise visit to a NADRA office, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani announced the regularisation of NADRA staff and ordered a summary to be presented in Cabinet on a priority basis.

Regretfully, once again the NADRA top management created hurdles in the way of the regularisation of the lower staff of NADRA.

At first the employees were asked for suggestions and almost 98 per cent gave opinions for permanency without any discrimination.

However, no action has been taken regarding the regularisation. The top management of NADRA is being paid high salaries in millions but they recently stopped yearly increments for poor assistant managers and system engineers who got a mere increase of Rs 600 in their salaries in September 2009. This is almost half of our yearly increments.

I request the prime minister to take action against the NADRA top management and orders to regularise all employees without any discrimination.

He should also instruct the authorities concerned to issue us our annual increments. I appeal to higher authorities to kindly save the young and educated but poor generation of Pakistan and not to push them towards a life of crime. Please allow us to work for the poor people of Pakistan.
