As i am using ptcl broad band services .About the product there are no issues.Dsl working is good.
Problem comes when dsl doesnt work.1218 is the number to dial and then you have to wait for 5 to 15 minutes and most of the time your call drops even in 2 minutes 5 minutes and finally after trying 8 or 9 times some on attended your call they will transfer you to dsl technical support departement and here you have to wait for 15 to 30 minutes and call can be dropped at any time.
This is not the way to handle customer complaints .This process have to be swift and fast and accurate.
Ptcl is a big name all they need is better call center setup with more professionally trained employees to cater the huge numbers of customers.
Or else customers will be always suffering.

You are absolutely correct in your assessment. The service offered by PTCL or shall we say Etisalat, the parent company is diabolical. I agree with you that the Broadband, when it works is great but the customer service and general treatment of customers is absolutely diabolical. Etisalat would not dare offer such shabby service to its customers in any other country they operate in. But because they have spineless Pakistani politicians in their pockets due to corruption so they know that they can treat the Pakistani consumers with disdain and get away with it as the corrupt politicians they have bought off with bribes will always protect them from any comeback. Shame on you Etisalat.
My complaints against them are same as you. I have held on to calls 1218 for hours on end and then they just drop. On the off chance that the call is answered by some monkey assistant they promise to get things sorted and then just ignore your complaint. When you call back there is no record of your call!!!! On occasions when you do manage to get through to the Technical Department they try to bullshit you with technical crap that anyone with even basic knowledge of technology knows is bullshit. I mean on one occasion when my wife called up to complain about slow speeds the Technical Expert on the line asked her to take a screen shot of her downloads and email it to them before PTCL could verify she was getting slow speeds!!!! When she asked him to look at the sync speed from their end he said he could not do that as they do not have any means!!!! He stated that only the head office in Islamabad has the means to do that and for them to be able to do it he had to send them a screenshot of our downloads!!! What a load of crap.
Furthermore, we upgraded our broadband to 2Mb speed on 13th january. PTCL started charging us for it on the same day. Hundreds of calls since and they argue that we are getting this speed as it is on their "screen". Then it transpires that although they changed their accounting records on the day we asked them to upgrade, NO ONE in our local exchange (Misri Shah, DHA), has actually bothered to upgrade the switches/circuits!!!! So I called the engineer incharge of this atthe exchange, a Mr Mohammad Asim. I spoke to him and explained to him the situation. He assued me that it would be done within two hours. LOL. PTCL promises....are not worth anything. Long time later, I am still waiting for them to do it.
I have informed them that I will not pay their bills anymore and I demand a refund of the charges since January.
More consumers need to do likewise before PTCL/Etisalat may just take notice, that they cannot get away with this shabby service.

Yeah i totally agree, calling there complaint number is just a waste of time, and the retards dept (which they call technical dept) has one cure for all problems.

Restart modem and computer ( a magic pill that would cure all your problems) whether there their dns servers are down any distortion in the line or any sync issues.

And forget that any technician would visit you by calling 1218 ( even weeks after lodging the complaint).

If you are from Lahore just call this person Usman Rafique 0332-4248368 and help would definitely come sooner.

I also agree to the above , i am ex subscriber of Micro Net and they are really good in support , they do have staff with pager or mobile phone in the area and whenever you call for a problem they come to your place with in half hour

A year back ptcl change my phone line from analog to digital , and that is why i had to switch my dsl provider I am so sick off these guys , i had forward my complain to almost all the PTCL department heads email from ptcl directory about complaining the support issues but no one bother to replay me , as i have now digital line so i do not have choice to switch back to MIcronet , other wise i would really like to quit PTCL
