Hi, I want to share my experience with PTCL, I have been using broadband way before PTCL was offering any, When PTCL Dsl came i was very happy and been using it since 2006 when they had 256K package. Uptill now it has be running very nicely and I was very pleased with it. But last month every thing went to hell. I had some problem with my phone line from exchange (noise) it took them a week and one visit to fix that but after that they changed my port and every thing went to hell. I started getting HALF of the speed i used to get (http://www.speedtest.net/result/549619703.png).
During last 2 weeks i have called them Countless times. they have done 2 visits to my home and they told me be happy with what u are getting and if u dont like it disconnect it :S. however one their 2nd visit they called someone and changed my dsl port from exchange on test basis and the speed went to normal 115Kbps constant. they told me they will solve the issue by changing the port. I was finally glade and after 3 hrs of no internet i got connected and the same old problem. I personally visit exchange the day and requested them to change my port, after 24hr I get a call from some dude telling me that have you requested to DISCONNECT your dsl and i was like wtf NO. I called my local exchange and clear this misunderstanding which they did and i got my port change with THE SAME ISSUE. now THis cant be my LINE or PORT i dont understand whats the problem. I am sick and tired of PTCL customer care.

PTCL never ever entertained any of my complaints, you are so lucky that you are getting that much attention from PTCL.
Infact in the last 6 months, i guess i launched 29 complaints but i was lucky just once. The techi person came to my site and i told him that there is disconnectivity issue. He knew nothing and after re setting the router he suggested that i better ask for termination. I was shocked hearing that, what a chap ?
I mean he was working for PTCL and he asked me to change the service provider.
He told me that they have no access to the exchange and most of the techis are illeterate regarding their field.
I wish PTCL best of LUCK...lols.
I HAVE TAKEN STUDENTS PACKAGE AND MY IBTERNET SPEED IS VERY SLOW I AM OBSERVING IT FROM LAST MONTH PLEASE TAKE SOME NOTICE OTHERWISE I WILL GO FOR ANOTHER CONECTION LIKE WI-TRUBE,WATEEN AND MANY MORE
@ Sara Zia, where do you live? it sucks when they treat you that way and telling you to terminate the connection is extremely sad. If you have any other ISP there i'd suggest you to go for that.
@ Moiz , yeah I will switch to Link Dot Net pretty soon. They offered me 1 MB for 735( tax including but no modem, i have my own tho) as compare to PTCL's even on student discount u end up paying more than 900 that includes taxes.

I have PTCL Broadband 1mbps but its download speed is too much low, and disconnected after few minutes.
i have complained too much time but no response from PTCL ..
PTCL is too much bad in consumer service

The Speed/ Packets always remain slow, despite of repeated complaints
I HAVE connected DSL 1 MB but it connect in one hour and having slow speed neither open even a simple page.
Main 6 months se complains kr kay thak gya ho lakin koye bhi mere net ki problem thek kerney nahi aya. Main ney new multan exchange me shehbaz naami insan ko rishwat bhi di hai lakin us ney bhi mera net thek nahi kiya. Itne Gandu employees hain koe bhi paise kay elawa baat nahi sunta gate me enter ho toh security paise maangta hai mera net 6 months se only 9 kb/s downloading speed araha hai. 500 se oper main complaints ker chuka hon lakin koe bhi nahi aya thek kerney. PTCL Land Line Does Not Support More Than 1mb As 2mb Supports But It is Not Available Due To Doubling it To 4 MB Even In Some Sectors Of ISLAMABAD Fiber Optic Is not Available Which can support Upto 10Mb Connection or More So People Do not Use PTCL Dsl & Switch To Any other Network Like Link Dot Net As They Are giving 2Mb Package in Just 2000PKR With No Installation Charges As Ptcl Is Charging 500PKR PER Connection.

People Having Slow Speed With 1MB Call There disired Exchange And Ask Them To Refresh Your Pairs or call Your Line man
I agree with you all about PTCL consumer services as I have also faced it. Since PTCL have millions of DSL subscribers therefore they don't worry infact they think that their tension will be released after terminating your connection. I think that you have got my point.
Those of you who are facing DSL issues, they are advised to mention their SNR (Noise Margin + Line Attenuation) figures here.
The best way - if you want to use PTCL is to give some money to lineman (to switch your line to the new junction box in your street as well as nearest) and the exchange dsl officer (to change your existing pairs with the new one - healthy pairs.
