This is my about 15 times complaint to the center of complains peshawar, but yet i have no response i may not say that the company is bad but i would like to say that the employer are toooooooooooooooo much lazy and they are not working honestly.

Yes u can change Alternative and Dns Prefferd Server then u can receive full download speed.....

I also have a DSL from PTCL with 1mbps link but unfortunately from the day it installed i have the link stabilising problem. Some time the DSL connected very fast and some time it become wrost. I compalined a lot of times but the response is very poor........ PTCL have to imporve their Service Backup........

Guys the stability issue is to do with the quality of the phone line coming in to your house. As far as the servers are concerned, PTCL did recently change their servers and forgot to tell their customers. I only found out because I knew someone within the PTCL!!!
If the line coming in to your house, is fractious, or has loose connections/joints,etc the your speed will be low due to the noise levels. It will also effect the stability of the connection. Stability can be improved by increasing the noise on the line, which in turn will reduce your connection speeds.
When you ring the Technical Help department, they do not have a clue and when I talk to them, they seem lost and come out with ridiculous arguments. One even argued that there is no way that PTCL can verify what sync speed my connection was, and what I had to do was take a Screen Shot and email it to them while downloading a file, which he will send to head office in Islamabad, who will then decide whether there is any action to take...............what a load of crap!!

Sriously guys the only way to achieve anything especially for PTCL to take notice is to hit them where it matters. STOP PAYING YOUR BILLS UNTIL THEY SORT YOUR PROBLEM. Thats what I am doing, although I get a fantastically reliable 1Mb connection sync'ing at 1024Mb!!!! But issue with them is that I am paying for 2Mbs!!! However no one at the local exchange can be bothered to upgrade my circuit switch/settings.
The huy in charge of my local exchange is a Mohd Asim, Misri Shah, DHA Karachi. I have argued with him in his office, and he has lied through his teeth, that the work will be done in an hour.....weeks later, I am still waiting.

If PTCL values its customers, then they need to sack this guy, and get someone in who will do a job he is paid for. This guy looks like a kid and is surrounded by OLD pensioners, who sit there talking shit rather then doing any work.

Go for Wateen. It is better then anyother broadband

me too is getting fair enuff speed....like 350-450 kbps on a 2 mbps connection n i am very much satisfied with the service...you may have other problems like cable damages, por cable quality etc.

PTA Takes Cognizance of Complaints Against PTCL Package
Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has directed PTCL to refrain in future from announcing any
pre-activated package without customers’ consent and without prior approval of the Authority.
These directions came in the wake of PTCL announcement of “Pakistan Package” on December 1, 2007 wherein the
package was activated on all PTCL numbers and they were to be charged at Rs. 199 per month.
Taking cognizance of the consumer complaints, PTA has directed PTCL not to charge Rs. 199 from those subscribers
who are unable to opt out of the package and have NWD bill of less than Rs. 200 per month in the corresponding
months.
It has also directed PTCL to reduce the time period of subject package to 60 days with no extension. As announced by
PTCL it was a limited time offer which was extendable and now it would be available for only 2 months. This decision is
taken to ensure healthy competition and to safeguard consumers’ interest.
The Authority has further said that PTCL is directed to refrain from launching/announcing any promotion or tariff
package without prior approval of the Authority by submitting complete details of such package(s) to the Authority at
least ten (10) days in advance and also to refrain from pre-activating such packages without customers’ prior consent.

PTA Takes Cognizance of Complaints Against PTCL Package
It may be mentioned that the Authority has always appreciated innovative packages from the operators; however, it also
has to ensure that the same should not disturb consumers’ interest and fair competition.

good to hear pta took notice! ptcl's act of activation of pakistan package without consumr's consent was definitely a shameful act....

PTA only took notice after a mass public uproar.. But what did it do about the hundreds of millions that PTCL made for over three months of charging their customers, 199PKR per month, that PTCL collected illegally. That money has never been returned.

What does it do when PTCL charges customers for months, when the line has been inoperative? Nothing.

So PTA....are a waste of time and are only there to make money for their seniors and to serve their paymasters, the big telecoms companies

come to think of it, i agree that pta didn't do an "ehsan" on us by taking this notice. it should get ptcl to refund the millions it made though this fraudulent and shameful act...

PTCL and PTA........... I wish every one not to contact them ever!
PTA asks PTCL to solve the problem, but they never checked the reason of that problem. and that is y the users keep facing that problem again and again. I contacted PTA for the dead service of PTCL broadband, my connection was not at all stable and sometimes for hours it was not sinking. After 3 days, PTCL people contacted me and inspite of 5 visits of concerned technical staff, the issue was not resolved.
I asked PTA to advice PTCL to reimburse or adjust the bill as there is no service, but PTA kept acting dead on my complaint.
One conclusion - - - PTA and PTCL got shares in enjoying the monopoly.
Thanks God that there is now competition in the market, otherwise PTCHell will keep fooling the consumers.

but our Exchange Office is telling me that its not our Problem Call to 1218 ??

My name is faisal and i am using the ptcl broadband last 1 year its working verygood . but the last month Nov 2008 i was distrub cause of slow browsing and disconecting .
i was complain the 1218 4/5 time a day over 20 days but my prob is still there . i was going to local exchange myself but they can`t solved my prob .
I was trying every thing,every posibilety to solved the prob { net disconect and slow browsing } i was changed my line pair or card whaterver but nothing hapend. nte connecting few minuts and disconnect then connecting after 5/10 minuts and disconnect
Now i think The PTCL had no technical staff or good menigment.
Now i tired to fu---ng service and thought leave the service.

I am agreed on this that PTCL had not set their basic. Telephone wires in our area are in worse condition and so noise and so problemetic. Therefore PTCL old staff has worse attitude against customers.
If they change their staff, they have probability of change.
But this is clear that this problem are limited to some areas,
I am living in Nouthia, Peshawar, near to Peshawar cantt.
I hope for improvement. Because every thing has a evolutionary period and may be this is the time for PTCL. Hope for Best, and think Positive.

i have been using PTCL broadband for the last 3 months and in short i’ll term it as a pathetic service.Disconnections,low download speed and and an extremely lousy and annoying helpline is all how i can describe this service. So much for the privatization of PTCL . A highly unrecommended service unless you have got infinite patience in yourself.

In addition, please let me know where can a DSL customer contact in these situations, there is no information on your website, broadband portal, 1218 support team is blank on this suggest. Kindly setup some standard SOPs, educate your 1218 call center team on those and provide information about the same on your website or send direct information to your DSL customer, otherwise you do not deserve or qualify to provide services at such a large scale

PTCL Helpline the worst help line where if you got stuck then no one even Father of PTCL Chairman Mr. Walid can solve that issue.

Mr. Walid this is exactly right your lower level team is so much corrupted and lazy that you can’t solve any issue if you are not able to give them so called service charges, And if you got complaint # from helpline then your issue will resolved within … sometime 1year (as in my case).

I ask PTCL to upgrade my package on June 2008 and now in may 2009 my ticket is still pending :)

Above all there is no team who can check such issues when your helpline is not giving support.

Support levels which i experienced:

-Password change request will take more then 2 days! (hay naa funny aab too fazool tarin developer bhii 5 sec main password change kerwa lata hay kisi application ky lyaa).

-Broadband link up gradation. (Never ever think about this if you link is running, you will not able to get speed)

I am also usinga 2 mbps connection and was having a pretty ggod service but these days the service is getting too lousy and disconnections are now the brand name of PTCL....dis iz bulls crap...ptcl management is just for bribery not for providing you the service according to the commitments

Abdullah you said that you get speeds of between 350-450kbs on a 2 Meg connection!!! How is that possible? Surely the maximum you can get on a 2Meg connection is 250kbs. To get speeds that you mention from PTCL Broadband, you will have to be on a 4Meg connection package, paying 4999PKR per month.

On a general note: PTCL Broadband is the best in the country, but that is a relative statement. Its the best of the bad lot. The service when it works, works great. Unfortunately, there are always some issues. My connection works perfectly at 1Meg. The shame is that I am being charged at 2Meg.!!! The engineers at the local exchange cannot be bothered to upgrade the connection despite 6 months of complaints.

Guys and Girls - Refuse to pay PTCL bills. Thats the only way you will get Etisalat the parent company to take notice. Why would the company do anything if it knows that regardless of the poor service they will continue to get their money. Hit them where it hurst. DONT PAY THE PTCL BILL.

I guess that is not the solution, we need to solve this issue, Contact PTA, no doubt they are working with same people as that of PTCL, but still they are bound to ask PTCL for better services.

so if they cut your line what difference would it make? From what most of you are saying, the lines etc are not working anyways and if they do work, they keep dropping etc so are of little use.

PTCL knows that you guys will keep paying hence why would they want to invest in their infrastructure as they get the money regardless.

So keep paying for a service you dont get. And the big companies will keep treating you with disdain.

Guys, I have used Comsats, dancom = now “linkdotnet” and ptcl, and strangely PTCL is best of the lot.

To get exactly what you are paying for, you’ll have to do the following…

Firstly, throw that ptcl modem out of your window, its useless it will disconnect every 15 mins or so. Buy a good modem, I’d recommend Dlink.

2) make sure your phone line doesn’t have any distortion and if you've have a very old telephone connection, get your standard cable changed with fibre-optic.

3) splitter just doesn’t work, it will only slow down your internet, connect the phone line directly to your modem, and get another line for telephone use...

4) Anti-viruses slow down Internet, but they’re necessary as well, so what you’ve to do is just disable port 80, 8080 scanning.

And well its difficult to get full speed downloads at some websites, so use download managers for downloading....the best one is internetdownloadmanager.com

@ Umer, Dear Umer I agree with Ali, PTCL can never work on any type of Modem, I am using my own modem i-e Dlink, still m facing serious issues, even in the day timings like 10:00 to 13:00,it works like a dial-up connection. I wonder how good will be the service of their EVDO, i believe they have imported it from CHINA>>>>>lols.

What Umer has said is absolutely correct. Although I complain about PTCL, I have to state again that the PTCL connection I have has worked almost perfectly with very minor hiccups every once in a while. My connection syncs at 1Meg and I get download speed of around 104kbs. Now thats pretty good. I use a D-Link woreless modem and it works perfectly. the cheap modem PTCL gives you is not worth it. I have fibre running to our house and that certainly helps with the reliability.

@ALI - you mentioned that UMER was making a joke....but to be honest what he says is very true....just follow his simple advise, and take measures in to your own hands. The reason why your connection drops is due to noise on your line through bad connections and also the way the wiring comes to your house etc... What I find to be a joke was that in this day and age ALI says he has no anti-virus. Maybe that is the reason why your bandwidth is low, its probably being used by many viruses you are likely to have on your pc.

The problem with PTCL is their customer service and technical helpline. People attending these two departments are a bunch of stupid bums who do not have a clue as to what they are talking about. Maybe PTCL needs to have some sort of a Quality Control procedure in place where they can check through how a complaint was handled by its staff. This might insure that the person handling your call does not erase your call record and does not ignore your complaint. But I suppose if you pay peanuts, all you will get in return is Monkeys and thats what PTCL has working for them....monkeys.

I am having 1mbps. And my download speed is approximately 110KBps.
It depends on several reasons like your telephone line. The specific mode on which line is transfered must be of new mode like PVC 0/100.
Linemen must hear you and can give you these options by paying them a certain amount.
Also u must complain your DSL problems to your respective Telephone exchange or DSL officer.
And last but not least u must have good contacts.

I have face problem 4 many days of low downloading and consistently stop of downloading speed. Please check and balance of IP.

By simple procedure, PTCL people never work.

i got my new connection 1mbps , well the problem is that my upload speed is good arround 40 to 60 kbps , but download speed sux it goes from 10 kbps to 20kbps , and on the other hand when i use torrent it touches 91-100kbps n stays stable , i dont get it why im not able to download or stream , im using zte 831(II) , is there any one who can help me out with this , on adsl port in setup , i have selected G.dmt , that made my browsing a bit faster , if some one else is using the same modem , could you please tell me setting i need to do in 192.168.1.1, and yea i got fiber optic ... need help please ,...

Well PTCL director can do anything. I was getting 10 KB Speed and now I am getting 160KB speed. My friend got my bandwidth increased.

Now i am using the LINKDOTNET good then PTCL .. very good . no disconnecting.. every thing is allright ..

I have PTCL broadband 2mbps but its download speed is too low. I
hate to use a connection which has 120kbps as it is practically
unhealthy for me. I have complained several times to pathetic
consumer service, but received no response from PTCL.
The stability issue is to do with the quality of the phone line coming in
to your houses. As far as the servers are concerned, PTCL did recently
change their servers and forgot to tell their customers. I only found out
because Iknewsomeone within the PTCL.
If the line coming in to your house is fractious or has loose
connections/joints then you receive lower speed. It will also affect the
stability of the connection. Stability can be improved by increasing the
noise on the line which in turn will reduce your connection speeds.
When I ring the Technical Help department, they do not even have a
clue of the trouble and at my complaint they came out with ridiculous
arguments. One even argued that there is no way that PTCL can verify
what sync speed my connection was and what I had to do was take a
Screen Shot and email it to them while downloading a file which he
will send to head office in Islamabad who will then decide whether
there is any action to take - what a crap!! Can you people help me to
sort out this issue with PTCL?

not only its speed is low but thr is also a big problem of disconnection.Even thr service of 1218 is perthetic,they do not attend promptly and even do not coordinate.

PTCL is doing great fraud they are cheaters...

Friends its not only my DSL speed of 1 Mbps provides max 70 KBps rarely but once due to their network problem the service was not available to me approx 23 days, instead they send me a complete bill..when I contacted at 1218 they refer me to my Azizabad exchange (if you see thier office it smells like poo where the DSL manager Farhan sits)from where they refer me to clifton head office 22KM away from my house. Now due to their problems we go from one place than another than another like donkeys.
where they ask ask to proof your service was haulted till 23 days. "Fool how to prove you shauld check in your system". I gave them 1218 complain numbers day timings but insted they said it was resolved in 6 days now I am an ediot wasting my highly important working hours.

I have got PTCL EVDO after paying 8000/- Rs in cash and without receiving any receipt. It was suppose to be a 3 Mbps connection but crap that, its not even 1Mbps. I hardly get around 200Kbps in DHA Islamabad where I have this. Before getting this connection PTCL **** told me that their service works in the whole Rawal Pindi Islamabad region. They are a bunch of liers. A pathetic service!

I have never used PTCL broadband but 95% reviews on this site are not very bad. I live abroad and was thinking to get PTCL broadband for my family in Pakistan but now no way……

Here in the UK, if you don’t get proper service and ISPs don’t listen then there are government organisations where one can lodge complain. This way one can even get compensation from ISPs…… I would suggest, all of you get together and do proper written complain to PTA. If they don’t listen to you then get some good lawyer and file a case against PTCL with all the evidences. Judiciary is now free in our country and I hope this will sort out the problem inshaAllah. Complaining is ok, but nothing will change until we get together and fight for our rights……

I am having pathetic experience of internet with PTCL.
Same problem as of above.

1. disconnects too often . every 5-10 minutes.
2. 1 Mbps connection but getting speed of 20-30 kbps.(most of the times nearly 90%, once a month i get 100kbps speed)
3. when i lodge complain they just keep changing the ip addresses which won't work.
4. they transfer my call to their supervisor who never picks up. (Once i hold for 45 minutes but no response).

I live in G-9 Islamabad. and my phone line is perfectly ok. No Noise. distance from exchange is also not that far. Please PTCL Staff for God Sake Have Mercy on Me.

میں نے براڈ بینڈ کی سہولت لی تھی جسے سٹوڈنٹ پیکج میں تبدیل کروانے کیلئے کا فی کوشش کی لیکن یہ کنورٹ نہ ہو سکا۔ سٹوڈنٹ۔براڈبینڈوالے ای میل ایڈرس پر ای میل بھی کی تھی ۔ پھر میں نے سوچا کہ اک دفع اسے کٹ آف کروا کر دوبارہ ڈائرکٹ ہی سٹوڈنٹ پیکج لگوا لوں ۔ جب میں نے 28ستمبر کو ماڈم وغیر لالہ موسیٰ کی ایکچینج میں جمع کروا دیا تو 10 دن کیبعد دوبارہ براڈ بینڈ لگوانے کیلئے 1236 پر کال کی تو پتا چلا کہ براڈ بینڈ کا کنکشن تو ابھی تک چل رہا ہےحلانکہ مجھے تقریباََ دس دن ہو گے تھے ماڈم واپس کیے۔
میں جب ایکچینگ گیا تو مجھے کہا گیاکہ آپ نے جو فارم یونیورسٹی سے تصدیق کروا کر ای میل کیا تھا وہ فارم گجرات کسٹمر سنٹر لے جائیں تو آپکا براڈ بینڈ پیکج کنورٹ ہو جائے گا اور اپنا ماڈم ہم سے واپس لے جائیں۔ میں وہ فارم جو اک مرتبہ پہلے بھی ای میل کر چکا ہوں ، گجرات کسٹمر سنٹر پر جمع کروا دیاہے لیکن اج کافی دنوں بعد بھی میرا پیکج کنورٹ نہیں ہو سکا اور نارمل پیکج کا بل ہی کائونٹ ہو رہا ہے

in my opinion mobilink infifnity is the best for all,............... it has nominal charges Rs.550 per month with 100 minutes free call.,,,,,, is main per month charges Rs.450 hain or Rs.100 main 100 minutes tak ki call kr saktay hain yani ap call se bhi faida utha saktay hain ,......... bs shuru main mobilink ki device purchase krne k leay apko 5,000 dene hongen with deposit phir monthly charges Rs.550 hain

Hey Guys... I have ordered Mobilink Infinity...and going to disconnect PTCL Fraudband .... Please do disconnect PTCL DSL if you are still using as PTCL is just increasing its customers and not going to give you a Support or Service in this regard.....

Its better to save your time and Rupees rather than waiting for PTCL to resolve your problems, they are still sleeping or I think they have gone in Hibernation Period...

I have switched to Mobilink Infinity and it is working great with brilliant Customer Service and Support, no problem contacting Call Center.......

Please leave this PTCL Fraudband and use Mobilink Infinity...Mobilink has passed over 16 years in Pakistan and is much better than all other service providers in terms of Coverage....At this time this service is only available in Karachi....

It is my advise to you to not to use PTCL service because of their poor service speed and support..... if you are in Karachi then do try Mobilink Infinity wireless boardband in just Rs. 900 5GB volume and 1Mbps speed.....

It is just my experience that I am sharing with you, rest you know better what to do and you are not bound to my decisions....

No way! ..... I don't think so there is any method that would activate dsl on your vwireless.

I mean seriously what is the point of making all the big adverts and boasting that every 512 connection has been upgraded to 1mb and every 1mb connection has been upgraded to 2mb...? I mean the other companies would be like baffled if they would hear this offer... But in reality we guys dont even get the speed of a normal 512kb connection, ptcl boasts alot but in fact it doesnt deliver what it proposes, I also get a speed og max 50kbps and thats too low for my likings. Complaint anybody ??? No one will hear us. We should all dump ptcl and get a Wi-tribe or a Nayatel connection that will give more speed or atleast the speed they promise.

I am using a 2Mb connection of ptcl broadband ....My downloading speed is 10kbp/s which should be included in the ULTIMATE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORD for the lowest ever downloading speed....A really bad service...

I agree & disagree with some of you.
My PTCL experience is as follows:

I called them for a 2mb dsl on 0800-80-80-80 and waited for 2 weeks before calling them for a feedback only to hear that my application has yet to be sent to the exchange. Becoming quote annoyed by this i cancelled the application and went down to my exchange the next morning. I made a new order (which included a new land line as well), got my order number, went to the SDO, and gave him the order number. He promised he would deal with it for a minimum amount (bribe). Well the next morning (less that 24 hrs later) the linesman rang my bell and pulled the cable from the pole outside my house.
The very next day, the DSL guy showed up with a new wifi modem which sync'ed at 4096 and since then i have been receiving a 240 kB d/l speed which is what ive been paying for.
SO over all my experience with them hasnt been bad at all. Yes they have a piece of shit support staff who dont know jackshit when it comes to modulation etc info. In 2 days i get a new line and DSL that synched at the max speed.

When I was in FRANCE for 3months and I was using 1mb connection, remarkable downloading speed 740KB/s. On return in pakistan lahore I was using PTCL 2mb connection gives me only 25KB/s hell speed of download. I brought 3.1mb evo and the downloading is remarkable poor only 2KB/s.
PAKISTAN IS MY GREAT COUNTRY AND HAVE ALL KINDS OF BLESS FROM MY GREATEST ALLAH.
No gas, no pure food & water , no electricity, dust etc..... because of the people who have leadership dont care about them but only they can do! is Lie, lie & lie. People of PAKISTAN please get knowledge, read write & learn, unite around one and true path, do what you can do for ALLAH, read Quran.

He is right. I am also facing that problem. Called nth time but they ask the same question "DSL light is on/off/blinking and internet light on/off/blinking" after these questions they say we have noted the problem and shall forward it. After all this nothing happens which leads to repeat the same thing.

Yes I agree. We are facing the same problems. Many times there is no line. When there is line there is no speed. When there is service, the max downloading speed we are getting is 17kpbs on a 1mb connection.

so i hav decided to block my DSl Connetion as very sooon.

hi, i am saba muzaffar . i was ptcl broadband user... but I couldn't continue the service because of the service quality. Then I managed to get wireless net connection and getting real broadband speed in 750/- only, I didn't pay anything else .. they installed the device free of cost .. no connection charges anything. Although its wireless broadband but it is working pretty ok.
i recommend u get that broadband connection..for ur convience giving num 021-34278085 ,0300-9200279

You should Mention your broadband Internet speed first.
But i am gonna tell you about measuring your download speed depending on your connection.
Lets suppose you have a 1 Megabit connection
1 Mb = 1024 Kbit
To calculate your download speed divide your Connection speed by 8
I.E; 1024Kb/8=128Kbps
The same goes to 2, and 4Mb
2Mb= 2048 2048/8= 256Kbps
4Mb= 4096 4096/8= 512Kbps
I hope this satisfies your confusion about internet connection speed with the Download speed

I also have a DSL from PTCL with 1mbps link but unfortunately i have the link stabilising problem. Some time the DSL connected very fast and some time it become wrost. I compalined a lot of times but the response is very poor.

you are being deceived by the PTCL as technically speaking this copper based PTCL network hardly supports 1mbps DSL it cant support 2mbps. Even for 1mbps this is not good enough. 2mbps and above is only good on Fiber Optic network. which is being provided by NAYATEL in pakistan but in very limited areas of big cities.

i wd suggest that u change ur package to 1mbps and try to get converted to student or any other discount tarrif as this PTCL DSL is hardly worthed that much...

also dont let urself be fooled by Wateen or EVO or Mobile net etc.... as they dont give that much speed wt they claim..... frankly in pakistan except NAYATEL u cant get more than 120-170 KB/s wt ever u do......

Itny sary logon ke download speed prob soun k lag raha hai i am very lucky bcoz mein 5 mah sy ptcl use kar raha hn and i hav no prob at all.Mjy taqreban 5 mah ho gay hein ptcl dsl use krty hoy and i have no prob at all.Pehly mera packag 1 mb tha jo increase ho k 2 mb ho gaya hai.my download speed on current packag is 280-400 kb/sec and upload is about 150-180 kb/sec,meri down speed kbhe 280 kb/sec sy nechy nae gaye or kbhe kbhe 600 kb/sec py bhe chali jati hai.mery khayal mein ptcl ke speed best hai

PTCL Costumer Service is the worst service ever.
My downloading speed is low even less then 100, even with full Signal Strength.
I bought the device, requested to convert my Package to EVO max RS(2000/Month) Those idiots changed it to EVO GO (Rs800 per GB)
These bastards own me Rs 2000, they made me use that amount in 5 days because of their lame service.
I called them more then a lot & emailed them about disconnection issue as well. They don't even care. They excepted problem is at their end but after they disconnect the call, Its Fuckin over.
I hate PTCL service.

I am from Islamabad and im getting only 40 kbps to 50 kbps downloading speed on my 1 mbps internet... T_T
It was about 120 to 130kbps , jab DSL lagwaya tha ...

Well in general If I talk about PTCL broadband beleive me its way better and affordable compare to other ISPs keeping in view the speed and unlimited downloading and its also a fact that its customer service sucks.

I just want to share my experience with you for the last 2 yrs Ive been enjoying uninterruptable service from PTcl. Well the speed stays around 120-145 till 12 AM and so and gets around 100-110 during evevning time on 1 MBPS connection. well What I initially did was got a person from my nearest exchange and got him to clear my line and also I removed my old cable and installed standard fibre optic cable just for the broadband sake and every 2 to 3 months I usually call the person for line check....

My connecton has also experienced certain issues over time and instead of complaining the useless ptcl helpline I ve always taken things in my own hands cause I know Im not in Europe.. Its pakistan Baby..... in case of problem I have my Technician at the exchange who I always contact as he clearly tells me wt the problem is and how it would be resolved.. and it usually take days or hrs... If your wondering the person aint my ( MAMA ) I usually give him money or BRIBE if u call it to get things done... Cause time is much more precious to me than arguing or complaining through him ive also known many more personnel who are very willing to help u if u help them first and all they need is a bone to perform their duties.....

well learn from my experience the next time u face a problem go to your exchange get the punes working there give them 100 or 50 RS know the right person to talk and spend some bucks to get things done...............

like it or not thats the only way it would work here or keep complaining get harassed and humiliated and cry for your connection...... For the ones sayin not to pay bills... Bhai the entire country hardly gets electricity and it still keeps paying hefty electricity bills whos there to question or take notice... If u dont pay thell cut your line and your the only one whose gonna suffer........... Instead of this play with these Fat lazy pigs and get your things done smartly..................

i have 4mb ptcl but my speed is 100 kb every day. i am being robbed by ptcl.

Is it the flood that has affected the speed? I don't get it. It's just not working. It gives me around 5kbps after every 15 minutes, and then disconnects. What in heavens is the masla?

This didn't happen before 1 week from now. It's been the past few days only. Any ideas whats going on?

Btw, I called up PTCL today and they asked me to bypass the splitter and connect the line to modem directly. That solved the problem at least for now. Have to buy a new splitter I guess.

i have a new connection of dsl but its downloading speed is good with internet download manager about 128kbps, but i got another problem of disconnecting the net every now and then, and then take 2 minutes to connect, that is really irritating to me where my landline is perfect, i also complained for this but they didnt do anything yet! damn it!

i think the flood made that thing happen, my dsl speed and stability was perfect before this connection which was deactivated three months ago, but on this connection its really annoying me by disconnecting again and again then to wait for 2 months to connect, To all brothers to deactivate your connections dont wait for the ptcl staff to come it will take months to deactivate , simply go to your local ptcl main office and tell them to deactivate the connection and write an application for its reasons too! n wait until they deactivate your connection n receive a small receipt within 5 months or so will be taken by this effort!

its service is good but its authorities and the people in complain centres are third class

Here is my story everyone... and believe me, its way more frustrating then it looks. I'm not even exaggerating about any of this.

I have EXTREMELY SEVER issues with services provided by PTCL. I submitted complaint on Friday 13 August 2010 (complaint No. 128) about problem with DSL and IPTV services. At that time phone line was working perfectly. Problem was with DSL which was down to 2048 instead of 4096 and IPTV was not working since last 2 days i.e. 11 August 2010. I registered a complaint with PTCL is what anyone with problem would do.

After long wait and no contact from PTCL customer support, After no work or resolution to my problem from them, I received a call on 15 August, I received an automated call saying "we believe the problem you were facing is fixed"... a complete lie I tell you. My DSL was still on 2048 and IPTV was still not working. I pressed 2 and moved on. This insane activity continued for 2 more days and I kept pressing 2... hoping they would actually do something and fix my issue.

On 17th august another tragedy occurred !!!
Instead of getting these problems fixed, my entire PTCL connection has simply disappeared from PTCL database. My number has vanished from their system. My phone line is completely DOWN and if I try to use automatic complaint feature on 1218, it tells me that phone number is not valid.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?

I am paying over 3000 rupees/month to get this pathetic service?

I ask from anyone who is reading this... Who are these people running this million dollar empire we call PTCL. Do they have any idea at all what their customers are going through?

After facing this problem I started finding ways to contact someone who can do something about this, but that someone is probably so much at ease with all the benefits from PTCL, that he doesn't care what we (the customers of PTCL) go through. They get Free Medical for themselves and their whole families, they get good salaries, easy timings to work in, subsidies on services from PTCL (rather free connection and calls), they sit in air conditioned offices, get transport services, automobiles to move them around to get things fixed... they get everything they need... yet, they are sitting somewhere without the knowledge, without the idea of our sufferings.

I can keep typing and my frustration wont end. My problems wont go away. No body will care, as no one has. Yet I write to say "when is this gonna end?" Will someone ever actually work in these Govt. offices or keep earning haraam and feeding their families (maybe not all but most of them are like this).

Will there ever be someone capable to handle these issues or just sell a service and wait till the customer gets so frustrated that he throws everything to their face and finds an alternate?

Please do something you all... please!

hey guys . all those who r suffering from dc(disconnecting ) problems ,change ur line mode to g.dmt.just select it. i did the same nd now its better than before. connection is more stable on g.dmt.

just try it nd post ur results here...

and as a matter of fact nothing will happen guys agr ham bill na bharey ay etc... ptcl ne apni monopoly banye hi hain aj ham connections khatm kartey b hain to koi farq nahi pareyga ku ke ek sec ke liye socho ke its in blody 414 cities and even in dif villages jahan koi aur nahi... and un logo ke leye downloading speed and etc doesnt matter at awl...

Make a difference and complain to PTA.

If there is Fibre connection available in your area, the charges to switch to that line are only Rs. 500.

i had 2mb package which should b now 4mb. but im not getting 4mb (400kbps). why????? actually im not getting 2mb either. its less than 2mb. why is tht? should i change my cable?

why is it too slow while downloading?i just cannot imagine.i have a connection of 2mbps.but there is no benefit of having such a facility.insteat you send your bills not even a minute late. . what is this?
