HI,
I am a loyal user of PTCL broadband service for more than two years now. I am one of the lucky persons who didn't require too much interaction with PTCL consumer services.
I have read a number of posts at this and many other forms. I summed up that a large part of DSL user community do not understand what does a 1 MB or 2 MB or 4 MB connection means. Here connection speed is not in MBs (Mega bytes) but it is in facts Mbps (Mega bit per second). So if you want to get you actual downloading or browsing speed. It would be approximately 1/8 of your connection.
For example if
For 1 MB-> Theoretically 128 K.Bytes/sec but Actual at Max (110 - 112).
For 2 MB -> Theoretically 256 K.Bytes/sec but Actual at Max (220 - 225).
For 4 MB -> Theoretically 512 K.Bytes/sec but Actual at Max (440 - 445).
So if your connection is in given limits than it is not under performing.
Now the problem is that for last 7 days my DSL connection has started to give very low speed. Approximately 5 to 15 K/Bytes. It improved a bit to in last two days to 35 - 40 K/Byres. But it is no where near to this actual potential which is at max (110 - 112) K.Bytes/sec or Avg near (95 - 100) K.Bytes/sec with 1 MB.
I tried calling multiple times to 1218 and get to operator. But all times i was un-able to get to any consumer support personal.
Guessing from attitude of PTCL customer support services it seems like PTCL do not need loyal customers and they don't care about new ones either. So i plea to PTCL administration, please take care of your current customer before targeting new ones. Because we are the one who make your repute. And please do something about customer support. If you can't handle existing customer how can you expect to handle more load.
And there is too much competition now a days. You guys are no more obvious choice now. Link dot net and Wateen are emerging as new viable options.So please think.........................................

Respectfully I Say that I am a user of PTCL Broadband at my shop from 17/10/2010 and till today 02/01/2011 with many problem only 10 days it was open. After that I was daily complain from land line and I also go PTCL office but no one else worked on my complains and bills is continue coming. Director of PTCL of branch of Orangi Town No.4 Karachi was said to me that I can do anything on this complain so I do. Because he will do nothing and he was challenge me to I do everything on this matter. MY COMPLAIN DEATELS IS GIVEN BELOW
