As PTCL upgrade its 1 mb broadband to 2 mb but i m getting still 1 mb link and i have complaining them @ about 2 months but there is no action taken by PTCL Administration

Thanks to LinkdotNET, My 512 dsl was upgraded (doubled) in 4 days after the announcement. I used PTCL for 2 months and it was not satisfactory.
We've had same issues with PTCL. We upgraded to 1Mb in January and they started to charge us for this straight away. However the connection remained at 512kb until 23rd March when all accounts were upgraded. Ours went up to 1Mb but we are being charged at 2Mb price. 1218 does not help as they have monkeys sitting there who do not have a clue.
I found out that although the accounts department updates the billing straight away ....no one bothers to tell the exchange to update their records!!! When I found this out i went to the exchange and spoke to the guy incharge of broadband. He promised to do it within one hour but nothing happened.. Another visit and the same problem ...nothing happened. So I have now given my current bill back to them for 10000 rupees and refused to pay them until my account is sorted out. This month ther will be another 10k bill. Lets see if this gets their attention. 20k owed to them and they can do whatever they want but it is not going to get paid!!
More people need to do the same and PTCL/Etisalat might just take notice.....

Recently, PTCL upgraded its DSL package of 512 KB to 1 MB in same price slab however the actual download speed i get is mere 150 KB on average. I have sound healthy computer system with 512 RAM & 2.8 GH Dell system. Whenever, i lodge my complain, their rep come and explain to me that sir this the standard speed everyone gets, so you should not be complaining about this issue. It means PTCL cheating with it customers in the open day light.
I guess one good thing that has happened due to PTCL's announcement of doubling the bandwidth is that other providers were forced to lower their rates too :). Like Maxcom revised rates for me.
But certainly sad to hear about PTCL poor customer service.
Not all providers have followed suite. Worldcall for example is still charging 1100 rupees for its 256kb broadband!!! Numerous calls to their customer services and all you get from the monkeys trained to dissapoint their customers is that "we have no knowledge of what you are saying".
This applies to ALL worldcall services, whether they are cable based or on eVDO. As bad as PTCL is in customer services, their actual service is a 100 times better than the Worldcall service. For the same price as 256kb from worldcall PTCL offers a 1Mb connection - 4 times better.
It is not the matter of comparison, how can be a choice between rotten apples. Here main issue is not DSL speed but the way they cheat customers with big lies that is pathetic. I do agree that PTCL improved DSL rates in Pakistan however they should not cross the ethical boundaries. Just because others are doing bad things does'nt give you authority to repeat the same.
