PTCL evo launched a campaign in dec 2010 at corporate level. They offered the employees and students of Dow University a very attractive package. The details of the package was:
50 percent discount on billing i.e Rs 1000/ (thats a general corporate package by them).
Now the interesting element of the package
Pay Rs 1000/ only for the first month as a first installment of evo device (total 4 installment of 1000 each)
Service charges for the first month was waived
2000/ Rs for the next three months to cover the remaining charges of device
from 5th month only 1000/ as service charges
Now the unethical part they did..
When we received the bill for the 5th month, it was again 2000 Rs. On inquiry we came to know that they lie to us about the first month. The first month payment was not the part of the installment, it was actually the service charges..
When we talked to the people who visited us they admitted that it was a miscommunication by their end and said that if we want to use this service in future then we have to pay that extra 1000/ Rs which was initially waived to us. It means that if there were around 100 customers who purchased the evo usb that day, it makes a total profit of 100,000/Rs to them and plus 100 consumers too who are now trapped. Superb! Isn’t it ?
Therefore, I think that its an open marketing fraud to attract customers, but since there is no law and order in our country so in the end its the public who is going to suffer
