Students Biryani Complaints - stale food

the shahrea faisal student biryani is hopless place to go food is never fresh, i visited with my children few times and have decided never to visit again, place is not for families it is true it is more a dating place then family eatery.

no reasonable person is available to help, though it is only a biryani outlet as the name says, and they can sell at a shehzore truck at old price then making such hifi eatery for biryani only. price increase is only fof show sha of sitting arrangement, where as portio size has been lowered with price hike, i do not think that their revenue have increased in the same proportion as the outlets have popped just for sake of biryani.

i agree with waseem food centre biryani is worth trying in terms of value for money and being fresh served, be it takeaway or eat-in.

again i think student biryani have been abondoned by their original owners and now it is only a money minting name serving low quality food.

Students Biryani is the worst quality biryani I've ever eaten - I even feel the stale oil on my pallet and in my throat way after I've eaten it. Hot tea doesnt help me either. YET, Moody's International has issued them an ISO certification - what the Pakistani consumer would like to know is that on WHAT BASIS was this certification issued? How much has Moody's been paid (under the table) to issue this 3rd class rated eatery the International certification?

Consumers be aware, as a food & beverage consultant and Helth Food Safety Specialist, I assure you with all honesty, the food quality is very bad in terms of safety. You can, if you manage to take a close look at their kitchen, see cockroaches, unwashed rice & potatoes, workers with dirty hands, rice strainers on the dirty ground and then same rice transfered into deighs ......it will make you think twice. and for that price...trust me. Dont eat there!! and dont allow your children to eat there. That's my sincerest advise!!!

I Love To Be Eat Dinner in Student Briyani... Food Was Awsum... But The Service is Slow But Doesnt Matter.... The Atmosphere is Very Friendly... Em Going With My College Friend & We Enjoy Alot.... Once A Day I Visited Saddar branch Student Briyani & I had Taken Awat The Food That was So Delicious I had Enjoyed Alot. Now I Alwayz Prefere My Friends To Serve Or Dine in That Resturant.

Im Very Impressed By The Service of Student Briyani & His Total Stuff And Call Centre Agents... Agents Doing A Great Job, Every 1 Is Educated And Nyce Way Ov Talking... Sum Tyme Order Was Late But Itz ok. I Knw The Traffic Of Karachi.. And I Understand The Riders Prob... i Have Only one Complain To Student Briyani Managment Please Follow Our Complain On the Spot... Thank You.. & U Guy Doing A Wonderful Job....

Food Centre Has Less Working Experience As Compare To Student Briyani. Student Briyani is the Only Resturant Which Is Delivering City Wide Huge Quantity Of curries While Food Centre Has Not The Facility 4 this Purpose.....

It seems we have a strange union of people who apparently like students "BIRIYANI" even though it is the worst tasting biryani available - I have had sooo much better "BIRIYANI" and cleaner too....but maybe these unionized people (poor people) never had good tasting food before in ther lives to know the difference - Hey Ms. Urooj, love to ask you out for dinner, but you wouldn't be able to tell good food from bad so ....no point eh?? Cheers!!!!

facts cannot be changed just by commenting flasely, try & improve the service, standard and food quality, a mochi can not cook so is cook cannot stich a shoe, seems like the money making bandwagon of food business has taken charm and student biryani is no more what originally it was.

Since 2008?? I would safely say 2004 or earlier...difficult to tell....Its one brand that has slowly been going down due to bad management practices mostly. However, I must comment that their Shami Kebabs are still quite tasty - or at least, they come in the 'top ten' bracket. Its quite sad that such a good brand has been mismanaged - I saw a lot of potential. Oh well.........

on behest of family member at noon today 15 05 09 after picking up children from school we all went to get some food from saddar centre of Cafe Student - aka Student Biryani., reluctantly I ordered the food to waiter serving outside a bearded old man. I requested that chacha saheb khana fresh aur garam lana warna order mat lou he was kind said aunty ap fiker nahi karo yeah Asli Student Biryani hai khana agar thanda ho ya ghar ja kar ap ko shak ho tou bhi wapas lana mai ap ko yaheen miloon ga.

order was under Rs. 1000.00 and I left a tip of 100 with the oldman., a usual 10% as my habit.

I must say the old man was right, the food was really good fresh & amazingly as fresh as it was we use to had before so many student biryani popped in town.

I must say again, the original Student Biryani is only in Saddar at the same old place rest of the places are only boards with hopless services and patehtic food.

Cyma, you may be right!! It also depends a lot upon the batch and whos making it - You see, increased demand calls for many 'karigars' of the biryani world to work here. Everyone has a different hand and making birani is not easy - There's an old experiment I use whenever I interview a Pakistani chef / cook - I ask him to make Biryani - If it's good, he passes. Making of biryani is very technical from the rice selection to the amount of temperature required in the deigh for half cooked rice - so only a few people would know that. What Students needs to do is to set a cooking standard. SOP as we refer to it. But given that they do not want to share the trade secret, it is hampering their growth... hense, creating bad reputation when they mess up the biryani at other so called franchised outlets.

Well I'm regular visitor of Student's Biryani Saddar, Gulshan and North Nazimabad new outlet and I luv Student's Biryani specially the new outlets in Gulshan n north r gr8 and now they're offering different interesting & economical deals ...besides Jeddah biryani clifton is also my fav. but students is economical with more options n now at new outlets is better place to sit n enjoy! I don't like Biryani Centre biryani

once in a while food may be good but normally the food at student biryani outlets is not at mark.

whatever said, the fact remains that every passing day student's biryani is loosing the customer base and food is getting below standards.

hope less outlet of student biryani is finally closed, i saw this afternoon, i believe the owners have realised that staff is not handling it nicely. i recommend please focus on maintaining your quality & standards instead of expansion without focus.

i read the history on website the old man have worked hard and sustained at one place with name known globally, but the new generation has become greedy and not focusing on quality but encashing the name.

please maintain quality and standard. the food quality at Saddar resturant is unmatchable then any other branch across the city of karachi,

No i dont agree with them they are the local chain and they are trying to meet the international standard i had visited there gulshan and north nazimabad branch which is osam we should appriciate their effort we should coment on them which help them to improve themself ,i think soo be professional rather than having tafreeh on this page thanks

The problem i see in their food is about maintaining a steady taste & quality no matter what they do how glittery topsie turvy their resturant is decorated the name is about biryani only and biryani as food does not and will never have any standing or a class category place in fine dininng cusine seems like biryani people are desperate to be known but unable to maintain the taste legacy of the oldman who left them with name food fame and a product generations can cash from. I must say again the only outlet with authentic student biryani is saddar kattrak road rest are all extrotion places in that name brand.

also i have come to know that the old man never sold chicken biryani it was all about beef no lamb, no fish no veggie nothing but ONLY BEEF, am not sure if that statement of an old waiter (baharwala) is right or wrong but yes the taste of BEEF biryani is wonderful better and worth eating to end.

said & done enough visited the newly opened place at 26th street commercial area the place is designed & decortaed as fine dining where as the only edible is biryani which is again not as fresh as the saddar outlet.

if the criteria of opening up a branch is to have a remote kitchen its better to have Big Truck outlet which serve during the time frames and goes away. The idea of having multiple outlets with central kitchen is big failure across Europe & US no wonder some stupid have introduced to Student biryani and made Big Bucks

last but not least, owners may be rich but they lack professionalism.

I have been eating at Students since I was in School....say when they didnt have this huge building at Katrak Road Saddar.....but just a small shack opposite the same place. A nice double plate cost just a few rupees ...note a whopping Rs150/=as now.It was nothing like sitting there in the shack at orignal students, and getting a full plate of gharam gharam aromatic biryani with a cheap spoon & a few rupees salad to go with it. Those were the good old days and things have changed since then. I must agree for one thing.....they do make good biryani...but not as good as they made 30 years ago. I still go to get fresh biryani from its orginal saddar resturant. I believe fresh things are gotten from its original place only. The small outlets in various cities donot serve fresh most of the time & degs are not delivered on time in the early afternoon. I have seen the good days of Students & I am glad I have savored every moment of it in those days! I only wish they would regain their reputation once again.
