Returning security for postpaid connection

Me and my wife had ufone postpay connections. We both were unable to control our expense, and did not understand the pricing, so we decided to convert to prepay account. We both had to wait for months to return the paltry sum of Rs 1500.

though we had deposited this amount, and requested Ufone Customer service officer to convert this amount into our prepay balance, they promised to do so, but did not. They said you are required to collect your cheque from Ufone headoffice. It took them over 3 months to prepare the cheques. In this age of information technology, when one can get things done in seconds, they cannot prepare a cheque of Rs 1500.

I had to visit quite a few times for collecting my cheque, and was repeatedly disappointed. Finally, I had to create a scene and threaten them with protest. I theatened them that I would stand in front of their main office in Jinnah Super Market with placards. My photographs would appear in media and destroy their image that they have built by spending millions of rupees on TV commercials. It worked, and finally they sent our cheques to our home address through courier service.

I am sharing this story to encourage other consumers to stand up for their rights and protest whenever their is a need. If we have not been wronged, but a friend or fellow consumer has been wronged, we should support him/her as well. I hope you all get my message and agree with this idea.

I totally agree with this complaint and, sadly, I am not even surprised that a telecom company would do that in Pakistan. Im sure there are other such incidences which don't even come into the knowledge of most people.

These companies know they can get away with frauds like these. Why in the world would they take 3 months to pay 1500? Do they not have the systems or the human resource to do it? Is it a very cumbersome process for them to do? Certainly not. They are doing it because they CAN do it and no one stands up for his/her rights! I'm so glad you did!

These corporates are doing this only because they know there is no one who could stand against any such incidents. On the other hand, we the consumers also some time say ... arey choro yaar, itni baree raqam nahee hai. If every consumer asks and make them responsible for their worst services, I am sure they will have to improve their services, inshAllah.

same here they cannot prepare a cheque of Rs 1500 to me. plz help me.my num is 03349855589 converted postpaid to prepaid on 25 may .
