I bought Wateen Wi-Max CPEi775 on 9.3.2010 with 1 GB unlimited data package. Last night, 5 days after buying it, the device started losing signals every 5 minutes & now it has stoped picking signals altogether just one day later. I called CSR & he asked me to check again after 1 hour. So I did but device didn't pick signals. Previously it was receiving 3 to 4 signals. In the morning, I'll take it to their CSC to get it checked. Don't know if the problem is with device or signal strenght. Either ways, it's very disapponting. Hope I'll get it fixed today. :-( If you have experienced such problem, share so we can learn more.

The access point near your locality could be down. Many of their access points (including the one in my area) are shutdown for "strange" reasons.
It is actually problem with the device itself. Took it to CSC yesterday, got it checked but no signals were picked up even at that location. They informed me that they'll send engineers at our location and they'll check the device and correct the problem within 24 hours. But now 26 hours have passed and the engineers haven't come. When i called them, they told me That they are sorry but all requests are facing delay due to powerfailure. Also note it that during the whole day today, There was electricity supply only for 2 hours. :-(
This could be bad. What I've learned in my 2 week experience is that that the engineer will come (they came within 6 hours or less but seems like you're unlucky) and if the device is faulty he'll fill in an "RMA" form and give it to you, he won't fix it. You'll then have to take the device to their Clifton office for replacement. I don't know if there are any charges.
Yep wateen serivce iz g0ing day by day pathetic. It sh0uld endeavour to make it's network quality and cust0mer cre better otherwise, they wil lead to selfdeath az thr iz throat cut c0mpetiti0n in da market...
Thx Wii for sharing. Yeah I guess I was unlucky. Cos they'll take even more time. Like some 16 more hours. I hope I wouldn't have to wait more after that. :-(
It's 46 hours since i reported the problem and the engineers haven't come yet. Yesterday they told me that due to loadshedding they were late and now they're telling me that they carry ups with them. What the hell is this... Wateen is putting sand in d eyes of customers. Now i guess, as wii mentioned, I'll have to suffer even more after these engineers visit.
so now i got a call from a lady csr who could neither pronounce my name nor read my address clearly. She was more confused than a 5 year old child. I had a great difficulty giving her my address. Now hope that they come soon and correct d problem.

This is extremely unprofessional attitude shown by the franchise employes. Assistant Manager Waqas Ahmad Wateen Franchise Prince Chowk Gujrat. They didn't fill my form correctly with wrong address. They didn't forward my complaint in time and whenever I called them, they kept lying to me. And they gave me a faulty device which worked for only 5 days. They didn't give me customer copy stating their printer is not working properly.
Did the franchise give you a ticket number? If so, you can login to your Wateen account from www.wateen.com (from your office or some friend's PC -- you do not necessarily have to connect with wateen wimax for this) and check the ticket status yourself. The franchise has to open a ticket for this and you should receive an SMS confirmation on YOUR cell phone in less than 10 minutes. If they did not give you a ticket number, they did not forward your complaint properly.
So here is the sum up of all that has happened till now. On the evening of 9.3.2010, I bought the device from Wateen Telecom franchise, Prince chowk, Gujrat , by the morning of sunday, 14 the device stopped working completely. In the evening at 9pm I called CRO Shahid Iqbal. At his advice, I checked the device again in the evening. Next day, on Monday, 15 at around 2pm I visited franchise to check if the problem is with device or signals, here Assistant Manager Waqas Ahmad handeled me. He told me the same steps as told by Mr. Shahid Iqbal and didn't check device there claiming his ups is down and no power supply. So I came back and checked again. Assured that the device is not working, I visited franchise again at around 4pm. Here Mr. Shahid Iqbal checked the device. He told me to take device back, the engineers would be sent and problem corrected within 24 hours. The engineers didn't come within 24 hours. So I called Waqas Ahmad at 6pm on tuesday 16, he told me about delay due to loadshedding and assured engineers will come in the morning. Next day I called him at 2pm as engineers hadn't come. He told me they'll come 2nd time (evening). At second time they didn't come again, so I called again and the reply was same lame excuse of powerfailure. I kept him calling and kept listening to his lame excuses of powerfailures and being assured that engineers will come within few hours. Once he allowed me to talk to the engineers(someone faking to be engineer) who asked me for patience and told me about delays due to loadshedding. By the noon of Wed 17, I was fed up with all this. So I called him and asked him if he wants me to not use their service and return device, I'll do it. At this he asked me for patience. Now this is the first time I received a ticket 702784 (around 2pm wed,17) as pointed by Wii. I ponder why didn't he forward my complaint after more than 10 calls. I don't know... I can't think of any reason. May be there was something personal or he is lame. I don't know at all. After 1 hour I received a call from lady CSR. here is another blunder of franchise, my address was wrong. So, i verbally told her address. After that I just waited. Nobody came. Next day on thursday, 18 at 10 am I received a call from a male CSR. I again told him my address. By 2pm, nobody came. Now I visited franchise again. This time not for asking them to send engineers. I asked him to give me the customer copy so that if i need to drag these people in court, I have some documents. He told me ab fault in printer and powerfailure. So i asked him to send it on my email id. I also informed him that I'm gonna launch complaint against them. At this point he admitted to not have forwarded the complaint and tried to save his neck by saying it's responsibility of CSO. He was not available at that time. This time I gave him written address and asked him to change. He said CSO will do it. At 3pm i received apology sms from wateen. So now we come to today Friday, 19. After waiting whole day yesterday and morning of today, neither came engineers nor the mail with customer copy. Now this was unbearable. Ok I accept powerfailure was making delay for engineers but email can be sent via their laptops. So in moment of anger I called him at 12 pm. Again same behaviour. I don't know how I stopped myself from abusing him. Being fed up, I asked him what he is doing, so he wept of lack of power and told it's up to CSO if he forwads complaints and all. So I ended the call. Now I was thinking nothing but calling Wateen headoffice, launching complaint against him at pta or dragging him to court. By chance thought came to my mind to complain this to CRO Shahid Iqbal. I told him all the details. He asked me to come to office but I rejected and told him about all my visits and calls. So he told me that he'll check and call me back. Just 15 minutes after that, he called me back and told that my ticket has returned with failure due to wrong address. While being on call, I received another ticket 714442. He told me that this is for address change and soon after that i received ticket 714477 for device check. He sounded nice to me. He also apologized personally and sent an sms with content "Yaar aj he inshallah visit ho ga.priority per complane karva di hai.shahid ipbal wateen franchise Gujrat" Now i hope k he is as serious as he seems and responsible.
I think the people at the franchise were being lazy and ignorant. I've been through the franchise-ticket-technician-callcenter-marketingpersonnel stuff during the past two weeks. The people at the franchise should have filed in the correct address to begin with. You can inquire details about your profile (e.g. address and cell number) by calling 111-365-111 and specifying your "customer id". These should be correct. If not, its the franchise to blame. Secondly, when you file a complain and they tell you they are taking action on it, ask for a ticket number. Its Wateen who is ultimately responsible to solve your problems, not the franchise. Ironically, its the franchise who is supposed to request a field engineer visit from Wateen, not you.
Here is sum of all blunders the franchise did
1. Faulty device that worked for only 5 days (I'm not sure ab this one but I handled device with care, so there was no fault from my side. The credit goes either to franchise, Wateen company or Motorola the manufacturer)
2. 3 days of delay in forwarding my complaint which needed only a minute to be done.
3. Wrong filling of form (I've come to know only of address, don't know if there are some other mistakes too) that caused delay of 2 more days (as of 19.03)
4. Lies (This is the most cruel one and gave me great mental torture, they kept me in darkness and I kept waiting for engineers to come)
5. Didn't give customer copy (Although he forwarded it today but to wrong email address. He mistook 0 with o while I had verbally told him the id and he had written it correct infront of my eyes)
6. Wastage of my time (This is the worst thing they did to me. While being offnet on pc waisted my time, the time I waited for them, the time I called them and the time I visited their franchise-all was wasted :(
Now let's see what happens and hope for the best.
I got a box-packed faulty device... never worked from the very beginning :)

I just received a 2 calls. First for address change and 2nd for device check. Yahoo. It's working. Long live Shahid Iqbal. Waqas Ahmad may got bless you a place in hell. Pakistan doesn't need such lazy asses.
Goto www.wateen.com (use internet explorer -- the noob coders did not made it to work in other browsers). click on the corporate site logo (top left corner) then goto my account section and login there (or try going to http://58.27.225.231/login.aspx). Your opened/closed tickets should be listed there
Guys, since 8 march, I am not recieving any signals from Wateen, when I call their customer service,they say.... 'Sir, we are working on your site'.....Ironic,... since I can see the site from my house.......and when I went to their Franchise, the owner said the most incredible thing....... quote: "Warid's administration has has a financial row with Wateen, and has temporarily shut down the towers here" He also said that about 60% Pakistan was to face the same problem! :S ....... But both sources have one statement in common....it'll be resolved in a month..... a month!!! I am not used to not having internet access for hours I have reported the Franchise owner's statement to the company... but sadly, no firm response.... what is all this??

It's totally failed to provide the standard service at satelite town rawalpindi.I was multiple time submmited my complaint by mail and call in call center but any body didn't not help to me for the removal of complaint.Kindly, Avoid to orders the Wateen Winmx Service without confirmation of result of service.inform to all others they save there money and also inform me best service in this area.

Dear readers I was a Wateen customer.You may have problems with Wateen on its worst services but I want to draw your attention to much bigger problem which I faced and that is fraud.
I order connection from Wateen which was later canclled due to non provision after a month or so and during that time I have been requesting and they said its just a metter of day or two. (Mr.Noman Javed from Islamabad office was my contact) After cancellation the real story begines. They withdraw cash from my accounts which seemed to be a mistake then but after registering a complain, I came to know that they are willingly involved in the fraud (I'm sure they have done same with many other people).So far I have been in communication with customerservice@wateen.com and wateen official Mr. Mohsin Khan who has stopped responding to my requests for refund.
I get my money back or not, I just want you people to be aware of a fraud company and I dont want anyone else to end up like me.Therefore I request every one to avoid transactions with Wateen frauds.I will also try to bring legal action against involved Wateen officials.Thanks

IMO PTA is the more appropriate place to report this problem.
I already complained there Plus every email communication with 'Yateem' was CC to PTA..
Almost every company uses dirty tricks to earn money know a days for example PTCL activated various services without customers knowing about them i.e.answering machine etc but Wateen are the worst.They could not provide me Wimax in a month after order, they cashed cheques when they already asked my adress to return them, they call you from unknow numbers (what are they hiding), they make false statements, every time you ask progress on your complaint you have to register it again because old one is in dust bin. So Wateen is the father of all fraud companies. Fact is Fact, they are totally dumb and there service is a crap..
So, here I go. My complaint solved. within 6 hours. I want to launch complaint against that Waqas Ahmad at PTA. Wii I need your help again.

As for the complaint against the franchise, its probably a waste of energy... its an individual not a company so may be complaining in PTA won't help. You can however let Wateen know about their behavior (politely :) and see if they fix him/them up.
It was not a big problem. Just something wrong with device settings. The engineer corrected it within half an hour. I admit that Wateen is not bad company & they have good customer support that is fast too. Wateen u rock as of now. Bad ka pata nai :-D Only real problem was the delay

i was planning to to take a wateen connection, i have been researching about the services of wateen since last week, and no offense but i am not satisfied with wateen's services, every one is advicing me not look forward for wateen, their services are not good..

i used wateen wimax for few weeks, wateen is not giving good services to its users..
i was not satisfied with the speed, i complaint to the customer services center, but there was no responce..
after some days wateen stopped its services in my area, when i contacted the services they told me they are updating their services in my area..
when the services started again, i faced the signal problems( as zee faced) the very next day after the restart of wateen's services in my area...
i decided to leave the fucking wateen's connection a i bought the PTCL eVo, i will not say that eVo is verrryyyyyyyyyy Good, but sure, its better than wateen.....

I'll try to contact him. Now I am facing another problem. The number of signal bars has reduced to 1 while the device is placed at same spot. Speed has reduced to a pathetic average of 5-10KBps. :-@

I have read some of the comments here and although i do not agree with majority of them but some are true. Wateen does accept its responsibility to its customer and that is the reason it has a open door policy. We have multiple customer touch points open from where customer can register his concern i.e. 11136511, email, self care portal, Wateen web site, fax, live chat, by post etc etc and since past year we are also browsing different blogs to really find out what the consumer wants.
I would encourage you that if there is any concern pending and you are not satisfied, please email customerservice@wateen.com. WE ARE HERE TO HELP.
Regarding the dispute of access points, we are doing every effort to get services restored in the affected outage areas. Some areas have come back online and others will also in some days. Please be assured that this inconvenience was not caused by any fault of Wateen as we are not the actual owners of these sites. I will not bother you with details but be assured that we are working on getting the problem resolved as early as possible.

@Wateen CS, I agree with some of the things you just said. Your customer support is very good if not excellent. I subscribed to wateen in March 2010 and so far I faced two issues:
(i) faulty box-packed device was handed over to me without a demo
(ii) the access point problem
Problem (i) took about 4 days to resolve, reason being that upon first visit the FE assumed that nothing could be wrong with a brand new device and instead spent 3 days trying to "create a profile" for the device. Anyway a replacement resolved the issue.
Problem (ii) is a bit of concern. Although it was resolved after 10 days, 10 days is a long time. We don't make payments to Warid (or whatever company that runs the APs), we pay Wateen. So if the APs are down, it is you who should accept the responsibility and arrange a backup for your customers. Otherwise, you loose customers and that's something your don't want. I am wondering if you are offering some compensation for people who are not able to use Wateen for the past 3 weeks. I guess you should.
Having said that, I am very much satisfied with the service so far and hope this like these do not happen again.
@Wii - You are right. No doubt at all. Hence i wrote Wateen accepts the responbility to its customers. Yes we will give credit of line rents for the days that you are not able to use the service. Kindly email customerservice@wateen.com and provide a brief description along with your internet login ID. Matter will be taken care of.

@Wateen CS, I have stopped using your connection because of almost no speed for torrent downloads. I have asked some of my friends and this problem occurs with them too. Now I'm using evo which gives full download speed (Same as normal downloading speed) I have a question Have you any intention of increasing torrent download speed & what is the problem? I use torrents most of the time.

It's painful to see that Wateen has no hold on its employees. They can do whatever they want. It can harm noone but image of company.
The franchise is continuing it's irresponsible behaviour. The device was returned on 20th of March. By 20th of April, I must have received the check. It's 28 April but I still havenot received the check. Call center claims to have delivered check to franchise but franchise denies it. I have made several visits to franchise but no gain.
Wateen must look out for such franchises and punish those held responsible. Most of the times there is a single person at franchise & I've seen him playing games on facebook at working time. But its matter between company and franchise what they pay their employees for. All I know is that the franchise is not doing its work properly and customers are not being treated in right manner.

I purchased wateen device 3 days ago, my device is blocked from 2 days and I'm unable to access internet. I contact on wateen customer service on Wednesday and nothing happened, in fact my call was dropped by wateen yesterday (Thursday). PTCL Broadband was the good choice but unfortunately I bought wateen (a piece of shit).
Wateen seems to be changing the way users log on to their system. I was unable to connect for past 2 days, upon complaining, they asked for my account number and "Mac Address" of my device, and promised that the problem will be resolved in 24 hours. Let see how this goes along. If you have a similar problem (i.e. if you see prepaid recharge page instead of wateen login page) contact CS immediately.

Although Wateen services are piece of shit specially for the past 2 months, i am still using Wateen for last 9 months. Why am i using? i dont have any other option. DSL in my area ( Islamabad I-8 ) does work as its very far from Exchange ( even paradign is not working).

Mr Naeem, your device is probably OK. Don't know which city you're from but here in my city I have same problem at home and at office. The access point (AP) near my home is down for the past two and half weeks and they are not telling me when they are going to fix this. Basically when the AP near you is down your device cannot to the internet. If there is another AP but too far away, you'll get weak signals and the same problem: losing signals every now and then depending on how far you are from the AP.
OK, that was my home. Now same shit with my office connection for past three days and no details from the customer support when they're going to fix this. I am fed up with this service and looking for alternatives. If you have purchased the device less than 15 days ago, I suggest you seriously consider returning it.

What is the speed in kb or Kb you are getting for download? with 512 connection, u should get 50 to 55KB/s.
i m using wateen usb internet connection in shad bagh since 2 years and it always shows 100% signals here. but after the rain these signals remain only 40%. i complained about it many times. but i have no response. they said that we have not authority to submit this complaint. please help me out to solve my problem. i m paying 1500 Rs per month.
